Banks

HSBC

50-52 Kilburn High Rd, North Maida Vale, London NW6 4HJ, UK – 0345 740 4404

The staff are very nice and get your bank and money in there very fast and I like how the machines work so when you take money out they do not crash every time like they do in the other ones in London smells a bit like cigarettes in there They should close at 6 pm not five as most people finish work at 5 pm and would get home to kilburn st 5:30 6 pm but good place.

Good place for create account and manager your money

Building Societies

Nationwide

49 Heath St, London NW3 6UF, UK – 0800 554 0660

Decent, competent, not over-or-under trained, welcoming and helpful staff. A new, pleasant layout... much more agreeable than formerly.

Small Nationwide branch opposite to Hampstead underground station providing friendly professional service at both the teller and advisory services. Branch has a fully functional ATM machine at street level. Recently the face to face appointments have been replaced with appointments via video with the financial and mortgage representatives. While it removes the personal interaction with staff members it is effective.

Local Chambers of Commerce for NW3. These can be an extraordinarily effective way of getting into the business community and / or getting things done. Equally they can be entirely useless depending on the chair. If they have networking events associated with them definitely go, and keep going, if you have a business that need local support. What you put in is exactly what you get out. Below is the national site. Watch this slot - it might improve!
Camden Town Hall

Judd St, London WC1H 9JE, UK – 020 7974 4444

Efficient, organised and friendly. The staff were cheerful and quickly got my certificate sorted. Security answered my questions politely and were helpful.

The staff are lovely here. You know they're busy but they're always courteous and help you out as much as they can. I had a number of questions that I asked both online and in person and was always happy with the responses I got. The only thing that could use some improving is their website - some things aren't too easy to sort online and I had to email them, but got a call back and when dealing with the same issue in person they got everything sorted for me right there and then.

thank you, my teeth are straight and white. Thank you for bearing with me I do find the dentist quite hard. Special thanks to Nina!!!:)

I have been a patient at the London Centre for Cosmetic Dentistry for 15 years. This is the most wonderful dental practice out there run by a super friendly, professional team. There is a real family vibe about this place. The service provided is second to none. Truly there is nowhere better and it is visible in the loyalty of their clients. Mervyn, Ken and his team greet you with with smiles and warmth and treat you with respect. They always run to time and operate the practice in a very efficient way. My teeth have never been better so I am smiling too! This practice is truly the very best out there.

Ace Dental

158 Kentish Town Rd, London NW5 2AG, UK – 020 7485 3711

I was running late for my appointment and wanted to call them up. The receptionist put me on hold for 10 min. I eventually got there while still on hold on the phone only to find both receptionists looking into their PC waiting for the day go by. I hope this customer service issue can be addressed by their management. On the other hand they did have appointments on offer and last time doctor was nice. 29/04/18 Update: I had a really positive experience with the clinic since and appreciate them taking feedback on board. As mentioned before the doctor I've seen was very professional and kind.

I came in today and was served by two lovely receptionist Harj and Naomi. As they were very busy and explained they were fully booked for the next few weeks, they offered me a private appointment. It was very quick and efficient. Highly recommend to come here. Thank you for the great service.

Christchurch Hall Doctors Surgery

20 Edison Rd, Tottenham, London N8 8AE, UK – 020 8340 2877

Friendly admin staff, always welcoming, warm & polite. Dr Vernon amazing... not much can be said for Dr Wardle whom I found to be quite pompous.

Very helpful. Took my daughter to see DR Wardle and she was very attentive. She listen to my concerns and give me the best care . This surgery is a family oriented and im very happy that my family is being well looked after by them . Thumbs up 👍.

Pennine Drive Surgery

Pennine Drive Surgery, 8 Pennine Dr, Cricklewood, London NW2 1PA, UK – 020 8455 9977

Doctors surgery (Local). Conversion of residential property. Ground and first floors. Established many years. Many experienced doctors. Nurse on site. 2x receptionists. Friendly doctors surgery serving the local community.

I have to agree with few previous reviewers. Surgery seems to have great medical staff but receptionists behave as if they were doing patients a favour that they speak to them. You are in a profession that involves dealing with people. If you have a problem with that and don't like your job maybe you should find a different one. Of course easier said than done these days.

Swiss Cottage Surgery

2 Winchester MEWS, London NW3 3NP, UK – 020 7722 2772

Excellent. They're knowledgeable, they care, you can get appointments, they're friendly. Of all the surgeries in London these guys have got to be up there with the best of them.

Excellent Doctor Surgery everyone there are great to me the doctors Dr Caroline Alfrey and DR Philip Smith and DR Hannah Daps all been great. Plus DR Abbas very nice as well i don't regret coming here at all as i needed to change my surgery at end of 2016 big time.

NHS Direct is now NHS 24. Just dial 111 to speak to a professional or click the link below for there self help website. Lots of really useful info but keep clear of heart surgery! If in doubt ask your GP or call 111. Good luck.

Royal Free Hospital

Pond St, Hampstead, London NW3 2QG, UK – 020 7794 0500

My father had secondary liver cancer and is currently being treated at Royal free. The surgery went well and the care he is receiving in ICU is excellent. The nurses give the impression that they want to be there rather then have to be there. I have not given 5 as he is still there so will want to see how is treated in a ward. He has been to other hospitals but this has to be the best so far. Dr Davidson and his team carried out the surgery. Just an update on 24 April 2018, my father recovered well in ICU, he was well taken care of. He is home now with ongoing issues but it seems the cancer has gone. I would recommend this hospital.

Travelled from Ireland to help my elderly uncle attend a scan. We were shown in with no waiting time. The volunteers at entrance area were all so helpful and cheerful. Thank you so much.

A very interesting place to wander around. Lot's of history to explore, or just sit in the quiet gardens.

Beautiful church and grounds. The old and recent history is amazing, make sure to read up - there is information and publications on site. A must visit if you are in the area (or not). Make sure to see the tree growing through grave stones which photos of don't do justice.

Our Lady, Help of Christians Catholic Church

The parish priest is wonderful. Like a lot of Westminster priests. Fr. Tom Form helped me. When I was having an episode of Bi - Polar disorder. He helped me to overcome the crisis. Also helped me long term. With his advice. Thank you Fr. Tom Joe

The parish priest is very supportive. We use the church hall for our disco for adult with learning disabilities. The church administration staff Lyndsy is a wonderful and very helpful young lady. There is also a church helper lady call Joan- my word I can't find a word to discrimination her sweat passionate caring love.

Find Recycling Centres

Regis Road Recycling Centre

Regis Rd, London NW5 3EW, UK – 020 3620 4026

Brilliant service. They take pretty much everything. The workers there are very helpful.

Came here with a car full of stuff when clearing out our cellar. They seem to be able to take most types of things you might reasonably be able to recycle, and the staff were helpful and not at all officious as you could imagine they might be in a place like this. Overall no complaints from me.

Recycle For London Collection Point

61 Kilburn Park Rd, London NW6 5LA, UK

Give and get free stuff. Here you will find lots of items that people are willing to give away, for FREE! This is instead of taking them to a local landfill site. The aim of this site is to reduce the amount of waste that goes to landfill (20.9 million tonnes of it last year in the UK) and recycling is great news for the environment.
We all know that we need to recycle more - and this is a great way of doing it.

Local Restaurants & Places to Eat around Camden Town

Pizza Express

194A Haverstock Hill, Belsize Park, London NW3 2AJ, UK – 020 7794 6777

I was walking towards Belsize tube station Belsize Park tube station from Royal free Hampstead starving hungry. I saw pizza express restaurant and decided to have a meal there. What enticed me was the fact they sell pasta as well as pizzas I am not a great fan of pizzas.. I can only say that the mail was fantastic. I had lasagna, which was cooked beautifully. It was so tasty. The restaurant itself is very large spacious clean and tidy the service is very good at this restaurant I was served by a gentleman called Nico who was a very good waiter. If all pizza express restaurants are like this I intend to visit them again.

Lovely branch. Very friendly and attentive staff especially the sweet manager and my adorable server Jennifer. Even the kitchen staff greeted me with warm smiles. Thank you folks! Vegan pizza was very tasty. I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area.

Wagamama Hampstead

58-62 Heath St, London NW3 1EN, UK – 020 7433 0366

Food was decent enough and the staff were friendly. Had a dilemma about delivery dipping sauce volumes but the manager, Kev sorted it out. The fourth star is reserved for Kev. Nice one, Kev.

Nice big restaurant. Light with plenty of space. Food was fine. Usual Wagamama offering. Ordered bottle of wine and two glasses of tap water. These came with ice. When I drank the water it had a slight fruit berry taste. Strange. We told our server and enquired whether it was the ice. Told no. We asked for more water, without ice, served in the green tea cups. Didn't solve the issue. Still the berry taste. I have experienced this once before but that restaurant said it was probably the smoothies also used the glasses. Decided not to drink the tap water. We ordered a bottle of still water. There was no recognition that there was a problem with the taste of the water. For that reason I would give between 3 to 4 stars. We paid nearly £4 for the bottle of water.

Oka Restaurant

71 Regent's Park Rd, Camden Town, London NW1 8UY, UK – 020 7483 2072

One of my favorite restaurants with the best quality food. I have never had a disappointing meal here. The fish is fresh and the food comes out piping hot each time. I highly recommend the black cod & the peanut butter cookie dough as a dessert. The staff are lovely and friendly which also makes the experience 10x better!

The pictures don't do the restaurant justice. This place was recommended to me by a colleague and it didn't disappoint. The food was so delicious; I couldn't believe how big a piece of salmon fillet was put in front of me, and the richness of flavours. The staff were also polite and attentive. It's a pretty small place and people tend to prebook their table which I understood after we were seated near the door. The constant flux of people meant that table was pretty cold but as it was the only one left we had no choice. However once our meal started arriving that was soon forgotten. I've since ordered for delivery from them again and it was just as delicious as the first time. Will probably become a regular Thursday haunt for me.

Nursery and Preschools

Bright Horizons St John's Wood Day Nursery and Preschool

70 Marlborough Hill, London NW8 0NH, UK – 020 3780 3027

Pretty good nursery despite its recent downgrade by Ofsted. There is a new manager there now and it has improved dramatically. The carers genuinely care about the kids and my two bounce out daily polite and relaxed. They aren't helicopter-parenting either, thankfully. Bit pricy but it is St Johns Wood so what do you expect?
